198. Don't Let Overwhelm Stop You

Season #1

What if “I just can’t do it all” is just a thought, and not the truth? In this episode, I’m recording from my backyard with the dogs, after taking my own advice and clearing my afternoon to rest, and I share what happens when life piles up right as your business finally starts going well.

I walk through why I see overwhelm as a capacity problem, and the simple phrase that helps me feel more capable and regulated: “I can hold this.” I also share what some powerful comments on a recent post taught me, a conversation with my husband about the belief “I’m not enough,” and why this is never about holding everything you’re expected to. It’s about the things you want to hold, and choosing them from capability instead of obligation.

What You’ll Learn from this Episode:

  • Why overwhelm is a capacity problem, and what your brain is really telling you.
  • How saying “I can hold this” feels different in your body than “I can’t do it all.”
  • Why “I can hold this” can sit right alongside honoring your anger.
  • The difference between what you have to do and what you want to do, and how shifting it gives you your power back.
  • Why capacity gives you choice, not obligation.
  • Why pausing isn’t you failing to handle it. It’s you handling it.
  • How rest is part of growing your capacity, not the opposite of it.
